Find My Yogas FreeIn Vedic astrology, a yoga (Sanskrit: योग, "union") is a specific planetary combination — formed by placement, lordship, conjunction, aspect, or exchange — that produces a defined result in life. Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra catalogs hundreds: Raja Yogas confer authority and rise, Dhana Yogas confer wealth, and the five Pancha Mahapurusha Yogas mark out exceptional personalities. A yoga either forms in your chart or it doesn't — its rule is exact, and this calculator shows you the rule alongside the result.

♛ Raja Yoga — the combination of rise
Raja Yoga forms when lords of kendra houses (1, 4, 7, 10) and trikona houses (1, 5, 9) connect — by conjunction, mutual aspect, or exchange. Because lordships depend entirely on your Lagna, the same planets create Raja Yoga for one Ascendant and nothing for another. Some Lagnas also get a single Yogakaraka planet that rules a kendra and a trikona simultaneously — Saturn for Taurus and Libra, Mars for Cancer and Leo, Venus for Capricorn and Aquarius.
⭐ Pancha Mahapurusha — the five great-person yogas
When one of the five true planets stands in a kendra in its own or exaltation sign, a Mahapurusha yoga forms: Ruchaka (Mars — courage), Bhadra (Mercury — intellect), Hamsa (Jupiter — wisdom), Malavya (Venus — refinement), Shasha (Saturn — authority). Roughly four in five charts have none — which is exactly what makes them significant when present.
